Connecting to Christ For Healing

Last year I was pondering about healing and God taught me some powerful concepts that I want to share with you today.

Important Teaching About Healing I Learned Through Revelation

The power of Jesus Christ can heal and help remove or release any trauma we experience in this physical fallen world.

  1. There are no limits on the healing of the soul or Spirit.

  2. There are limits with regards to God’s will on physical healing, but those are only temporary because someday we will all have a glorious, perfect resurrected body.

The Effects of Trauma on our Bodies

  • Brain—neural pathways, neurotransmitters, brain waves

  • Hormones

  • Nervous System

  • Immune Systems

  • How Cells reproduce

Episode Discussion Points

  • So although there are limits to physical healing, when we heal the soul and Spirit through the power of Jesus Christ, it impacts our physical body as well.

  • Sometimes we pray for a specific physical healing, but God grants peace. So we don’t always get to pick what kind of healing God shares.

  • All healing happens “in the name of Jesus Christ.” Ex: "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth rise up and walk." Acts 3:6

  • If you don’t get the physical healing you want, watch for a compensatory healing from God.

  • The promise of a physical resurrection with perfect bodies for all of us. Ex: Job 19:25-27, “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold.”

  • He can help heal any unkind thing done to you or that you have done.

  • Jesus has paid the price for all sins and traumas

  • Sometimes traumas have layers and they take a long time to completely heal. You can even get help from a counselor to aid you in this process—just be sure to invite Christ to go to each appointment with you—because He is the ultimate healer.

  • He can help with repentance and forgiveness

  • He can also take the burdens we absorb when talking to others (because we are not their Savior).

When You Need Healing

  1. Connect with God and ask what you need to do to heal

  2. Listen for any thoughts or ideas

  3. Say “I choose to heal.”

  4. Lay the burden at His feet and ask His help not to take it up again

  5. Remember that repentance and forgiveness are part of that healing of your soul

God’s Healing Promise

Malachi 4:2, “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings.”

Hello, and welcome to another episode of Tamara's takeaways on the Stories of Hope in Hard times podcast. I'm your host, Tamara K. Anderson. Today I want to talk to you about a really neat bit of inspiration I got last year when I was pondering about the power of healing. And I'm actually going to read it to you from my journal. Because it was one of those experiences that when I got it, I quickly wrote it down because I didn't want to forget it. And I knew I want to teach it at some point.

Tamara Anderson 1:21

And this is what I wrote, "Through the power of Jesus Christ, we can heal and help remove or release any trauma we experience in this physical fallen world." One of the specifics that I got about this, and this is very interesting. First thought, "there are no limits to the healing of the soul and spirit that we can experience when we're here and mortality." No limits to healing of the soul and spirit!

Tamara Anderson 1:52

But there are limits with regards to God's will on physical healing. But that is only temporary because in the resurrection, we can all be healed that have a perfect body. So I'm going to talk just a little bit about this.

Tamara Anderson 2:10

Because all of us have experienced trauma or the effects of sin on our soul. And those things actually can impact our physical body. There's been a whole bunch of research done more recently about the effects of trauma on on the body. And here are just some of the basic ways that trauma can impact our bodies, it changes our brain, and how our brain and the neural pathways kind of connect with the other parts of our body. It can change our hormone balance, it can change how fast we're able to eliminate toxins from our body, it can affect our nervous system, our cortisol, which is our stress hormone can be just cranking out of whack, which can then affect our either male or female hormones, it can affect your immune system, it can affect brainwaves and neurotransmitters, it can affect how your cells actually reproduce and can change them.

Tamara Anderson 3:18

And so any kind of trauma can impact our physical bodies. But as as, as I gotten this download, there are no limits to the healing of the soul and spirit. So as we heal some of these soul and spirit things, it can actually also help our physical bodies as well. And I find this absolutely fascinating. And I've experienced it in my life. And I've been working with some people to help me heal some of the traumas that I've experienced in my life. And sometimes we bury those deep, and they're like layers of onions, but it feels good to get them kind of off our chest.

Tamara Anderson 4:00

Now trauma can also come in the form of sin or people doing things to us that perhaps are traumatic, and cause trauma. And so we can also release those in the name of Jesus Christ. So I love that first principle that there are no limits to the healing of the soul and spirit. The second thing I mentioned was there are limits with regards to God's will on our physical healing. Some people get physical healing here in this life, some people don't. Some people die because of trauma that their body experiences or disease. And some of those things we just kind of have to wait until the next life but we can still connect with Christ and be strengthened and fortified.

Tamara Anderson 4:54

Sometimes the healing we pray for doesn't happen. But perhaps a different level of healing happens. Recently, in one of my podcast, we talked about how the physical healing that was prayed for, didn't occur. But the power of peace did end up permeating this person's soul before they died. And so sometimes we pray for one specific type of healing, but God grants us another kind of healing.

Tamara Anderson 5:28

One of the things that I've been researching lately is how all these types of healings can be aided, in through the name of Jesus Christ. There are so many scriptures that talk, especially in the New Testament about being healed in the name of Jesus Christ. And I especially love the story of Peter approaching the man on the steps of the temple where he says, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, I give thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. Isn't that beautiful?

Tamara Anderson 6:04

So sometimes, miracles are done in the name of Jesus Christ. And that is when, when Jesus does want them to be done, and there's faith, that that can happen. But sometimes we have the faith for that to happen, and it doesn't happen. But if that's the case, I want you to watch for a compensatory healing. Maybe you won't get a physical healing. But maybe you'll get a healing of peace or a healing of understanding, or some other kind of healing that comes in the name of Jesus Christ, because we have such faith. When I prayed and prayed and prayed for my sons to be healed from their autism. I knew God could do it.

Tamara Anderson 6:51

I knew he had healed for example, my mom when a gas oven exploded on her. He had helped her heal from that when I was young girl. And so I'd seen miracles happen. But when I prayed for my my sons to be held from their autism, I felt super frustrated and wondered why I didn't have enough faith for them to be healed. But part of that healing, I know 100% will come in the next life.

Tamara Anderson 7:20

I love in the story of Job that I've been reading this week how he also had faith in a complete healing. Even though he was covered in boils and he'd had such traumatic incidents occur to him, he said this,

Tamara Anderson 7:34

We're going to take a quick break. But when we get back, we'll have more lessons, tips and things you can apply to your life. Stay tuned.

Tamara Anderson 7:43

Hey, my friends, it's Tamara K Anderson, and I need your help. I am gearing up for a wonderful Christmas season this year. And I need your stories to be part of it. I'm launching a new part on my podcast that I'm going to start doing every holiday season called holiday stories of hope. And so I would love to hear your stories that you and your family have had happened to you during the holidays that have inspired hope, in Christ hope in your family, stories that perhaps you've passed down for generations. Or perhaps it's something that's happened to you personally. So if you have a story you would love to share. If you wouldn't mind coming on a zoom call with me and recording it. We can do it in 5, 10, 15 minutes. And then I will be sharing that this November and December with my audience so that we can all be inspired by your story of hope. If you're interested, go to my website TamaraKanderson.com, and go to contact me and reach out to me that way and we'll get something set up. Alright guys, thanks for being such great supporters. And I look forward to sharing more of your stories of hope.

Tamara Anderson 9:01

He said this in Job chapter 19, verses 25 through 27. He said, For I know that my Redeemer liveth that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God, whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, isn't that beautiful? So he knew that his physical body covered with boils, was going to die. He knew also the power of Jesus Christ that He had power to redeem and resurrect and heal that physical body even after it had decomposed in the earth. And he knew that he would take on a physical body and see and stand before the Savior someday.

Tamara Anderson 9:50

And that is my testimony, not only for my sons, that they will be perfect and healed and complete and hope and stand before God I'd be perfect and whole Sunday, but that I will too. And all of my chronic migraines and physical challenges will be healed someday, and so will yours. So, don't doubt that that faith that you have for healing, complete healing will happen, if not in this life, for sure in the next as Job said, "yet in my flesh, shall I see God."

Tamara Anderson 10:29

So keep that faith, but also watch for the compensatory blessing in the name of Jesus Christ, perhaps he won't grant you the physical healing that you want, but he will grant you with peace, He granted me peace and understanding. Eventually, when I realized, my sons were not going to be healed in this life, I thought, well, I've got to learn to be okay with that. And God kind of helped heal my soul, and quit doubting myself that it wasn't that I didn't have enough faith, but that it wasn't his will. And so trust that the physical healing will come, if not in this life than in the next and watch for the compensatory blessing of strength, or peace, or compassion, or empathy.

Tamara Anderson 11:19

Sometimes God gives us blessings of healing and gifts, because of the physical challenges or traumas that we enter. So if you're wanting to heal, and feel like you need God's strength, and blessing in your life, connect with him and approach him and ask him, What do I need to do? What is the next step for my healing, healing of the body healing of the soul. And then listen, and say, I choose to heal. Then Give him the burden says he's asking for perhaps he's going to have you lay a burden at his feet, maybe one that you're clinging to, perhaps it's one that you thought you had, you were done and over with, maybe you laid it at his feet, and then took it back up again.

Tamara Anderson 12:10

Sometimes we do that, we feel like we've been carrying it so long, it's hard to completely give it to him. But pray and ask him to help you be able to completely give these traumas, these burdens these sins to Him, and let him take them completely and trust that he's got them that he has paid the price for them. Just go to him and say here, I don't want them anymore helped me to heal from them. And ask Him every day because traumas have layers, and he can help us heal if you feel you need help.

Tamara Anderson 12:45

Contact a professional that can help you heal from childhood traumas or adult traumas, or whatever traumas you need. But find someone that can help you through that. Because healing is powerful. And as you go to those counseling sessions, then invite the power of Jesus Christ to go with you so that you can heal more quickly, more powerfully. I know that something that I do, every time I go, is I always pray and say God helped me heal. I need you with me on this journey. Because ultimately, he is the one who heals us. It's not something that you're just doing with your therapist. You're tapping into the power of Jesus Christ as you heal. Whether your therapist is a believer or not. I happen to have one who is and that that helps a lot because then we can both talk about the power of Jesus Christ in the healing process.

Tamara Anderson 13:41

But Jesus Christ paid the price not only for our sins, but for every trauma for every burden for every unkind word spoken to you, or every unkind thing done to you. Anything you have experienced, that has impacted your soul and your body. He has paid for that. And he can help you heal and he will help you heal. Remember, there are no limits to the healing of the spirit, go to God. Ask him what you need to do. Give them those burdens, even repentance and forgiveness are part of that healing in the name of Jesus Christ. And we he can help us repent, he can help us forgive.

Tamara Anderson 14:26

Sometimes, as I'm talking to others, I feel that I am taking on their burdens. Have you ever left talking to someone and you feel the burden of their problem on your shoulders? I've learned that I've got to give those to God. I wasn't meant to keep them. I am not their Savior. He is. And so I've got to when I feel that weight of their trials, weighing upon me, perhaps it's even one of my children. I have to give that to God. It wasn't meant to be my burden. It was always meant to be his.

Tamara Anderson 14:59

And I can help minister to his children here on Earth. But I wasn't meant to carry their burdens. I am not the same year. And so I've learned to give those burdens to him, from them through me to him. And so we can help people, but give God the burden. You don't need to keep it on yourself.

Tamara Anderson 15:22

God can also help us forgive. And that's a hard one. Because sometimes we're really angry at someone. And the beautiful thing is God is with us. Wherever we are in that process. We're if we're at the beginning, and we're too angry to forgive, we can talk to him about that. And I've certainly been there myself.

Tamara Anderson 15:43

If we need to repent, we can also talk to him about that, and give it to him and let him take it. And that is the beauty of healing in the name of Jesus Christ is that he is strong enough and powerful enough to take on himself. Every pain, every sickness, every burden. Everything you will ever experience in this life and everything I will ever experience in this life. And He is mighty and powerful enough to heal and help and save.

Tamara Anderson 16:17

So approach him in the name of Jesus Christ, talk to him, connect with him, and see what he inspires you to help unburden yourself of give it to him wholeheartedly, and pray and ask for help for forgiveness, for strength, for courage, and even healing of the mind, body, soul, and spirit. I'd like to conclude with one final verse in Malicai, chapter four, verse two, "But unto you that fear my name, shall the Son of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings." Isn't that beautiful?

Tamara Anderson 17:02

So remember, he is powerful to he'll connect with him in the name of Jesus Christ. First, ask what you need to do. Second, be brave enough to give him those burdens. And third, remember that repentance and forgiveness are part of that healing process. They can help lift your soul and invert in you.

Tamara Anderson 17:25

My invitation to you today is to connect with Christ today. And ask him in the name of Jesus Christ, for the healing power of Christ to enter you and your soul, as what your first step of healing needs to be. And give him all those burdens. All those traumas, connect with Christ, get the healing you need, and move forward with hope and faith of the glorious resurrection just like Job, that someday, we will stand before him glorified and perfected and see him face to face and fall down at his feet. With such gratitude that he has helped us and healed us not only through life, but in, in in throughout all eternity. Hope on my friends.
